Steady State Thermal Analysis of a Plastic Electronics Cover and Aluminum Base

Figure 2 - This graphic demonstrates that the meshes of the two parts do not match up. ANSYS contact elements handle the heat conduction between the parts.

 In this workshop we use the thermal option of the ANSYS contact elements to model heat conduction between the cover and based in the electronics cabinet. The starting point for the workshop is a pair of volumes transferred into ANSYS from Pro/ENGINEER using the Connection for Pro/ENGINEER
