Shown is steering geometry for an off road vehicle. The simulation developed perimeter profiles of non-circular sprockets to optimize this configuration. The chain path and sprocket locations could be indexed through the entire range of motion as part of this process.

The gears may be modeled as flexible or rigid in this scenario as their rigidity is a secondary factor to the system behavior.

Also shown is a graph of the force in the driver gear joint.
